The All Access Show history
The All Access Show is Tour Tech East's private trade show, which began as a small gathering of suppliers and customers held at their offices in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in eastern Canada. Within a short period of time, both the number of manufacturers who wanted to participate and attendees grew dramatically. The popularity of the trade show forced Tour Tech East to convert their two sound and rehearsal studios equipped with stages as well as part of the warehouse storage area into what customers sees as an exhibit floor. This amazing transformation is done over 2 days by their staff annually.
One of the studios were used to host presentations which were posted on the wall and people just walked in a had a seat. Unfortunately no one was aware in advance of these in-depth presentations, so some customers missed out on great opportunities. Mr. Pierre-Louis Landry, a fellow maritimer residing in Montreal and president of the local SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers) chapter and long time participate of the show, volunteered to handle the seminar program. The second floor cafeteria as well as one of the larger dressing rooms were converted into seminar rooms, grabbing chairs anywhere we could find one.
With this added bonus of full day seminars during the trade show more than doubled our attendance. With Mr. Landry's involvement in broadcast TV and commercial AV fields lead to an added dimension to both the seminar selection and trade show. The seminar section now requires 4 rooms (2 smaller rooms with couches and a mix selection of odd chairs). For a newcomer to the show, they wonder why there's a sink in the largest presentation room. But to the dedicated returning participates, they don't even notice the imperfections.
