Seminar Download Page ....we gave up trying
Unfortunately promising copies of the presenter's Powerpoints is like promising it won't be freezing cold during the show dates. Years of experience have taught me the following: guest speakers have busy schedules and have a hard time finding the time to polish their final presentations to give out. Other reasons include being scared to be judged by the quality of their presentation (or worried some of the graphics were borrowed off the internet) and/or manufacturers internal politics prohibit the distribution of the presentations (scared to give too much information to their competition or need the big bosses to approve what they say about the competition). The cruel reality of these busy industry experts is that even though they all say "no problem", guess what happens?
I'm lucky if a get 4 to 5 copies out of 24. So I gave up trying.
So you want a copy of the presentation?
Here's a couple of tricks which may lead to your success in getting your copy or at least get an honest answer:
1) Bring a USB Key with you to the show. Ask after the seminar if you can get a copy, and then suggest to go to their booth (because someone else will be waiting to start the next presentation on time), and download it there. Another way is too leave them the key (put a rubber band with your business card attached to it (a hole will do) and pick it up at the end of the day. This way, when they have a free moment (which will happen doing the show), they can make quick corrections (such as removing the competitve info.) and voila, you have a copy.

2) My second tip it very simple and usually works. At any time during the show, go see them in their booth, and give them praise for such a great presentation, and with this golden piece of paper (your business card), ask if they would email it to you.

3) My third tip is nearly always works. Get the speakers business card and write a flattering review of their presentation and ask politely for a copy. This way they have no excuse for loosing your card or contact information. Since they are infront of their computers when they read the email, chances they will take the time to reply (with thanks for the kind words) with the attachment you were looking for.

4) It's not uncommon today to have people using their iphones (OK smartphones) to take screen shots for later review. I do it all the time.

5) If the subject matter is really hot and you don't want to miss a word, just leave your ipad, digital audio recorder, or iphone (download an iphone app such as Recorder http://www.recordertheapp.com/ for a huge buck, or
iTalk recorder http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/italk-recorder/id293673304?mt=8, (which has a free version) on your lap and bingo, you have an audio version. No images, but sometimes you actually have more info than the slides.
Not the answer your were hoping for, but trust me, gathering presenters copy of their presentation is worst than asking for a summary of the subject they will be covering. I write 75% of all the seminar descriptions.
Wish you luck, have a great show and yes, if you attend one of my Website or Social Media presentations, you will get a copy. Promised. Unfortuneately it's only available for the attendees. Too much valuable information to give out for free. Your cost, just show up.
See you at the show, Pierre-Louis Landry, All Access Show 2012 seminar coordinator and website services. :)
