10 11h30 Wireless digital conferencing...Conferencing made simple!
Presented by John Vellone, Canadian Manufacturers Rep., Vellone Communications
Sponsored by Listen Technologies

Technological advances mean that sophisticated audio conferencing systems can combine the convenience of wireless with the security of traditional systems. Wireless gear is becoming widely accepted, both in the professional and the consumer worlds. And wireless audio conferencing is an option that more and more users are willing to consider. There are, however, a number of concerns that prevent people from trusting a wireless conferencing solution. There is the idea that if a delegate unit is not connected with a solid wire, there is no guarantee that it will work. And what if you are having a highly confidential meeting – will you ever know if someone else is listening in on the conversation? Finally, do you have to understand the ins and outs of radio waves and frequencies to set up a system with confidence? Luckily, things are not as bad as one might think. Of course, there are a number of technological challenges involved in making a wireless connection robust and reliable. The good news is that today, technology has evolved in such a way that it is possible to build a conference product that combines the user experience of a wired system and the convenience of a wireless one.

12 13h00 Digital signage using Hyper media technology.
Presented by John Vellone, Canadian Manufacturers Rep., Vellone Communications
Sponsored by:Spinetix

Traditionally having a digital Signage network involved 3 main components 1) a software to create your pages (Scala, Powerpoint, etc.) 2) A management system (server) to retrieve files, feeds and distribute internally or externally to your screens and 3) a local player at each screen to display your information (DVD, Media card reader, a PC configured to be a DS player). With Hyper Media Technology from Spinetix, you no longer need to be dependent on proprietary software, reboots from PCs and the delivery limitations of older systems. This non-PC player provides the ease of use, connectivity, low power (7 watts) streaming capabilities and an open source signage player that is not tied down to one design package. Keep your options open with the smart choice of digital Signage players. Topics to be covered include AV distribution, no subscription license fee (for players), HDMI output, Instant messaging, emergency messages with audio, RFID, RSS feeds, using Axis (or compatible RTSP, RTP and SDP compliance) for live video streams, using time synchronous for creating video wall applications, using the free HMD (Hyper Media Media Director) software, wireless distribution option and more.
